My own thoughts
The 19th of September 2010 it's choice in Sweden. I think it's really important to vote, because if you do not vote then you shouldn't complain if you think that the "wrong" parti won.
I myself do not really know what I would vote for, but it is red in all cases. I think that citizens have some strange ideas about society. The Red wants to invest in jobs and housing for young people, and that's exactly where the most of the young stand in their lifes right now. I think that a conservative government will mean that it will be hard to be young adults in four more years. And the red wants also to reduce the class-and gender gaps and work for the environment. Personally it suits me fine.
I think that everyone who has the right to vote should take its time to get their voice heard!!!
It's a part that makes Sweden a better country.
And it is always a good start to know what you do not like, and that's usually the way to start thinking.
I have pestered my friend (who is 18 and does not intend to vote) on how important this is. That she can vote blank if it is so that she do not know what she wants to vote for, instead of not voting at all. Her response was: "well I can just as easily put my voice on the Sweden Democrats, it does not matter either way!". Then I tried to explain to her that if she will vote on the SD she'll shows that she supports everything they stand for, it will be like she pats Mr. Akesson on the back, gives the thumbs up and says "you are good! Remain so! Welcome in parliament." I think it's very sad that I'm more interested in this more than she is, although it is she who is 18 years and have voting rights.
To get our society to work well we all need to get our voices heard.
And I think it is good that the election is every four years. The time is just right. Neither too long or too short. And it's always good with changes so things may vary a little bit.
It will be exciting to see who will win!
